Take Lysine. If you are prone to break outs, I would take it daily as a preventative supplement. It is an amino acid that your body requires anyway. Also stay away from nuts and seeds. This works well for herpes and shingles as well. If you know you will be in the sun, be sure to use lip protector with sun block of at least 30 SPF.
