I have a terrible cold. With the works: itcy, stuffed nose, watery eyes, and a sore throat/cough. If you’ve got any cold remedies, please help!

Home remedies like tooth paste on pimples, and strawberries to help whiten teeth have really seemed to work for me! And, well, the more the merrier!

chapped lips: rub them with a hot toothbrush, and use blistex
Cold sored: blistex works really well for them too
Pimples: still waiting on that one.. 
Whiter teeth: i got crest whitestrips and they worked SO well.

Yesterday I woke up with a cold sore right in the middle of my top lip. I’m wondering how these are caused. I haven’t kissed anyone lately. Also what are some household items I can use to make it go away faster? Thanks. =]
I’m wondering if things like ice, peroxide, alcohol, nail polish remover or tea tree oil would be good a good idea or make the situation worse.

Cold sores are highly contagious, so if you were around someone who had one, and you came in contact with something that that person touched…
GARLIC works really well. Just cut open a piece of garlic and apply it directly.
I’m not sure those things would be a good idea.
And I think the idea is to not moisten it so it shrivels up and dies…

Boil down an onion(diced) and lemon juice and honey. strian it. then eat a spoonful when your throat hurts or you start coffing a lot. It tastes gross but it does the job. just refrgerate it and it will last for like 3 months.

My wife is a Filippina and she cooks up beef bones and vegetables and put some chilli flakes in and that clears your head and makes you sweat and makes you feel good all over,give that a try.Have a good day.

Unfortunately, canker and cold sores is a herpes virus that you were more than likely born with and you might always have them. They key with cold sores is the moment you feel a tingling feeling on your lip, immediately ramify the problem. Don’t wait!
Are you stressing out a lot lately? If so, get rid of the problem…literally. I once had tons of canker sores when I was going through a break up for 2 weeks. Once I got rid of the guy they immediately cleared up. Try rinsing regularly with Orajel mouth wash. Avoid sun exposure? Also, try the home remedy below. Good Luck and hope it gets better for you!
Black Tea Bags
This is one of the simplest and most effective cold sore home remedies there is. Black tea leaf (Camellia sinensis) contains a high concentration of tannins which have both anti-inflammatory and antiviral effects.[1]
Directions
Make a cup of black tea (using Earl Grey, English Breakfast or any other common black tea bag that you have in the cupboard) and leave it to cool for a few minutes. Apply the warm or cool tea bag to the affected area and hold it there for approximately 5 minutes. Repeat this 2 or 3 times per day. This process is best started as soon as any signs or symptoms are noticed.

Some people have great success with L-Lysine. I however found for me it only makes it worse. Cold sores are a virus lying dormant in your body until your immune system weakens then it flares up, usually after a cold thus it’s name. I find for myself the best bet is to take lots of vit c and garlic along with any other immune boosting formula as soon as I begin to feel worn down and hope it works. After mine flare up nothing seems to shorten the life of it. I apply a nice cream like Burt’s Bees royal jelly eye cream to help with possible scarring.

i think i have one. it looks like a pimple right on my upper lip and it hurts. what are some good remedies for it? either OTC or home remedy, anything to help make it go away. and is there anything i shouldn’t do? is it contagious?

Tried everythig on the market, and Campho-Phenique works for me. Seems that something different works for everybody, from very expensive prescriptions to Chap-Stick.

It takes a while to heal. . .
Grab a Q-Tip, Dip the Q-Tip in apple cider vinegar and put some on your cold sore… Oh wait i wonder if this is just for cankers??

as soon as you feel it tingle, put ice on it for about 10 minutes. Do this every couple of hours. It takes the fever/heat out of the sore & will inhibit the bacteria that causes it to form. Also, if you can’t ice it before it breaks, Abreva is wonderful.
